Intensive outpatient programs (IOPs) are programs used to treat addiction, depression, eating disorders, or other dependencies that do not require detoxification or round-the-clock supervision. They give patients the ability to continue with normal, day-to-day lives in a way that residential treatment programs do not.
If you have a more moderate addiction, though, keeping your support network of friends and family close at hand can be sound practice and improve your chances of leaving alcohol or drugs behind you.
