Insurance Verification
Will My Insurance Cover Treatment?
If you or a loved one needs treatment but finances are a concern, here are some ways that the Affordable Care Act (passed by lawmakers in 2010) ensures your insurance will cover up to 100% of addiction treatment:
All insurance plans must provide addiction treatment
The ACA requires that all qualified health plans cover mental health and substance abuse disorder treatment as an essential benefit. While every policy varies in details like co-pays, deductibles, and other terms, there’s a good chance that the costs will be greatly reduced.
Children are covered up to age 26
This law also raises the age that young adults can stay on their parent’s insurance plans to age 26, meaning that even if an individual doesn’t have access to healthcare, their parents’ insurance may provide coverage for them to get treatment.

Cost shouldn’t keep people from getting the treatment that they need. Unfortunately, it often does because they don’t think they can afford it. Many of them don’t know that insurance can cover most of the cost of attending an alcohol rehab in California. In order to find out if your insurance covers treatment, all you have to do is initiate the rehab insurance verification process by completing the form.
While more people than ever have health insurance, some people still don’t. As a result, it’s important to have a backup plan to pay for rehab. This backup plan can cover the remaining cost of rehab that insurance doesn’t cover.
One option is for people to use their personal savings. While they usually like to hang onto their savings for emergencies, few are worse than addiction. Those who don’t have a savings account could ask friends or family members for financial support.
Of course, there’s the option of getting a personal loan too. Typically, it’s the last resort since it incurs interest. If there are no other options, it’s a small price to pay for overcoming addiction.
